Nos da,
If you have not already heard, Fiat have announced plans to tackle the Ducato X-250 juddering issue for all owners who have REPORTED the problem to Fiat and obtained a case report number. So if you have the problem, but have not got an official case report number RING 00800 3428 0000 Choose option 3 and get that all important number.
They are sending out letters to all owners who have contacted them, within the next fortnight. No one will be allowed to jump the queue, those Motor home owners with a 2.3Ltr engine will be dealt with first, followed by the 2Ltr and 3Ltr M/H owners.
You are advised NOT to contact any Fiat dealerships at this point in time, because they haven't told them yet!! When your M/H finally gets to the garage it will be assessed as what requires doing, re, gearbox reverse cogs, engine mountings, etc and then modified accordingly, owners will then be given the chance to state their satisfaction with the repairs, after a road test. Sounds good.
Diolch i chwi hagar.

Excellent news - I'm sure all concerned will be grateful to you for finding and sharing this information.

By the way, (as one who understands it) I'm intrigued by your introduction and conclusion in Welsh! What's the significance? Ydych chi’n siarad Cymraeg?

Da iawn, Hagar - cadw ati! Mae’n amlwg dy fod yn byw yn y Gogledd.

And for those not yet able to follow the language of Heaven – and lest Hagar and I are forthwith banned for incomprehensible chattering, this was merely an innocouous social exchange!

But I guess you’ll all understand Iechyd da, if not Nadolig Llawen*

* Happy Christmas.

Hi Cymro,
Quite true, I was once banished to Wales for 12 years and had an office in Cathedral road, Cardiff. As you have quickly guessed my attempt to learn Welsh was sadly lacking and even more so with the passing of time. Not wanting to cause offence, i will confine my greetings to English, the language of the Universe and beyond. (Bus Lightyear).
cheers hagar.

Hi,
Bought an Adria Twin on a Fiat about four months ago - judder problem on reverse. While in France this year met someone who tld us to contact Fiat to register this which we did on our return home. Result - Booked in for November for gearbox and engine mountings, gearbox modification etc. so hopefully will solve the problem. Fiat were very helpful, even called us back to check that their customer services were doing their job right - impressed with this so far. We will keep you posted regarding the modification. Just joined so hope I get this posted OK.
Happy Travelling!

I think that it will still cause problems down the line as I have met a fair few owners of vans that judder to some extent who haven't thought to contact Fiat. Hopefully the 'fix' does work but what of all the vans out there not having the mod? I can understand Fiat not making this a recall & modifying all vans but they ought to at least contact all owners & have the vans checked.

Hi Barnowl,

We have recently bought a "new" Twin and so far haven't had a judder problem. Ours is a 2.2L 100 Multijet with a 5 speed box.

What model is yours?

I say "new" because it wassold to us as an '08 model and probably converted by Adria early in 2008 -some of the components such as the seat swivels have manufacturer's labels dated Nov 2007!!

We are generally happy with the van conversion having fixed a few glitches.

Steve

Hello
Fiat Ducato 2.3 Invitation to report vehicle shuddering in reverse

Has anyone who has reported the reverse juddering problem had it fixed? I can only find people who have the problem but no resolutions yet. If so, who are you dealing with Fiat Italy or Fiat UK. who is dealing with this problem.

Would be grateful for any information... Thank you
Jayne
